Simplify the Complexities of the Quality Payment Program and the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System

For almost 40 years, Alpha II has been on the forefront of healthcare rules and regulations—gathering, analyzing, and interpreting healthcare coding and billing rules to help clinicians remain compliant and improve reimbursement. Now, with the shift to value-based payments, Alpha II is devoted to helping your practice achieve a positive payment adjustment from CMS. For the 2018 reporting year, the payment adjustment will be between -5 percent to +5 percent, paid out in 2020.

The effort to promote standards for quality care by CMS began in 2007 with the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI), which was quickly changed from an “initiative” to a “system” with the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS). Both PQRI and PQRS were rules established to target best practices for the medical care of specific, frequently occurring medical conditions. These efforts, along with the proliferation of electronic medical records, meaningful use, and value-based modifiers have now all been combined into the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS).

Alpha II has been developing our software to fit these reporting needs since PQRI was first introduced in 2007 and has been enhancing our software each year as the requirements have grown. The extensive experience and proven credibility we have developed has earned us the privilege to be a qualified CMS registry since 2014. As we enter the second transition year of the Quality Payment Program (QPP) and MIPS, the Alpha II team remains committed to managing and maintaining all CMS updates and revisions during their continued evolution. This has enabled us to deliver a comprehensive MIPS registry solution suite that

  • affords partners and their customers the flexibility to select a solution that fits their desired participation level;
  • helps ensure outcomes and attestation requirements have been completely met; and
  • provides performance metrics and real-time feedback scoring through our MIPS dashboard.

Alpha II Registry Options

Alpha II provides three unique registry options to simplify MIPS reporting, regardless of your level of participation and budget.

We enable all reportable MIPS performance categories: Quality, Promoting Interoperability, and Improvement Activities. All the Alpha II Registry solution options can be reported by either individuals, groups, or virtual groups. With Alpha II, you can avoid negative penalties and instead enjoy the positive adjustments in value-based reimbursement. Because CMS publicly reports MIPS scores through the Physician Compare website, best practices and reporting help to enhance the reputation of your practice and focus the public on your efforts to ensure high quality patient outcomes.

Alpha II is here to ease the stress of QPP and MIPS. Contact us today to learn more about our MIPS Partner Program and the valuable resources we provide to help educate and enable your customers as they embark upon the process of MIPS reporting.
